Stewardship Emphasis - On many occasions Jesus talked about vineyards because they are common in the Holy Land. A grapevine exemplifies several traits that we, as Christians, should demonstrate in our lives: growing, living, sharing, and giving.
The vine grows and sends out branches that produce fruit. Jesus is the vine, Christians are the branches and new believers in Christ are the fruit that will later yield more fruit.
Grapes live and thrive in clusters, never individually. As Christians, we worship and learn together as a family of faith in Sunday School, worship, and fellowships.
The fruit of the grapevine is to be shared. Christians are to share their faith with all others by word and deed and bear witness to what God has done in their lives.
Grapes don’t stay on the vine forever; they are to be eaten or planted. Christians must also be willing to give themselves completely to God even if it means going around the world to share the Good News.
“I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, will have the power, together with all God’s people, to understand the greatness of Christ’s love.” Ephesians 3:17-18
