First Baptist Church offers two worship opportunities on Sunday mornings. Our 8:30 a.m. worship is an informal blended style of worship. The whole atmosphere is relaxed and warm. We sing the new contemporary songs as well as the traditional hymns of our faith. The 11:00 a.m. worship is a formal worship experience. The congregation shares in the worship through the singing of the hymns, prayers, and responses found in our worship bulletin.
We follow the liturgical calendar throughout the year giving special emphasis to the seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and Pentecost. There are also those opportunities for celebrating special times in the life of the church such as Baptist Men’s Day, Youth Sunday, and Senior Adult Sunday.
Our church celebrates communion on the first Sunday of each month plus Christmas Eve and Maundy Thursday. Traditionally our deacons will serve the congregation although there are times when we invite the congregation forward to receive the elements. If you have accepted Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you are welcome to participate in our communion service, even if you are not a church member or a Baptist.
